De-Weaponize Faith

We respond to the Weaponization of Faith, specifically the Christian Nationalist threat posed by the Administration and MAGA. There is a crucial distinction to make here: we do not oppose Christianity; we oppose the patriarchy which has used Christianity as a bludgeon for centuries. The difference is lost on many from both sides of the political spectrum. On the right, we have an entrenched patriarchy that purposefully distorts the Word of God to justify their hatred of others. On the left, classical Marxists believe religion is the "opiate of the masses" and should be suppressed. In the 1930s, Dorothy Day of the Catholic Worker had to choose faith over communism because neither would accept the other. No such choice needs to be made in our era. Neighbors of Science and Neighbors of Faith can work the same problems from different angles. There is no incompatibility of ideas.
